It may have been a hot, summer day on July 13, 2019, but the heat didn’t stop Brandi and Tyler from having an absolutely perfect wedding day!
I loved every second of wedding planning with Brandi and Tyler. They were thorough, thoughtful, and considerate about every detail and poured so much of their hearts into every aspect of their wedding. Plus, I quickly realized after I started working with Brandi that she is very much a planner, which immediately made my job so much easier! Talk about a dream bride!
When I look back on Brandi and Tyler’s wedding day, a few words come to mind — love, fun, sun (did I mention it was hot? ha!), and joy! I remember awkwardly tearing up in the back as they exchanged their vows, giving them a hug after they were officially Mr. and Mrs., tearing up during their first dance, and then watching them dance the night away with their closest friends and family. Oh, and we can’t forget the perfect sunset that filled the sky with the prettiest pinks and blues as if God made painted the sky just for them. What a beautiful celebration it was!
But beyond all of the pretty details, this wedding was special for me because of how much this family means to me. Brandi and Tyler’s wedding was the second wedding I have been asked to be a small part of with the Kerr’s immediate family. I helped with planning Tyler’s sister, Brittany’s, wedding in May 2018 (which you can view more of here!). I truly can’t tell you how much of an honor it was (and still is) for me to have been a small part of both of these wedding days, but it means more than they’ll ever know.
Brandi and Tyler, I wish y’all nothing but love and laughter for your happily ever after! Friends, enjoy just a few of my many favorite images by Rettig Co. Photo and Films and Kathy Jennings Photography from this beautiful wedding day!
The cutest monogrammed robes! Y’all already know I love a monogram detail.
Brandi and Tyler’s house is divided: she’s a Hokie and Tyler is a Wahoo (poor thing ;))!
P.S. LET’S GO.
Love these sweet images of Brandi and her Mom. Brandi and Tyler wrote vows for one another, which they read privately before the ceremony during their “secret look”. This picture of Brandi reading the vows Tyler wrote for her is so beautiful and so powerful. One of my favorites from the entire day!
Those Blue Ridge Mountains sure do make a gorgeous backdrop!
I LOVE this picture of Tyler — looks like someone’s excited to marry his lady!
YAY! They’re married!
So much joy!
Another favorite!
Have you heard of the southern wedding tradition of “burying the bourbon”? Southern folklore says that if the bride and groom buries bourbon at their ceremony site one month prior to their wedding, it’ll keep the rain away on the big day. And if you bury the bottle upside down, even better!
It was 85 degrees without a cloud in the sky on their wedding day so, yeah… I think it worked! Another powerful picture during the father/daughter dance. So many special family moments! Brandi recognized her Nanna’s birthday (which was the same day as her wedding) and had the crowd sing to her to wish her a great birthday.
Tyler’s sister and Brandi’s Matron of Honor, Brittany, gave an epic speech — all while wearing Tyler’s basketball jersey from high school!
Brandi’s brother, Brody, literally dropped the mic during his speech. It was awesome and the crowd went nuts!
A few iPhone pictures I took of the gorgeous sunset I mentioned!
Everyone danced the night away!
Of course, I had to grab a picture with the beautiful bride!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for everything, Brandi and Tyler! I just adore you two and wish you nothing but the best — always!
